Earlier, it was rumored that Samsung will launch Galaxy Watch Sport but new details have revealed that it will actually launch as the Galaxy Watch Active. Meanwhile, the specifications of the watch have also popped up online.

Based on the report from XDA Developer, an XDA member by name “deadman96385” has revealed this and thus, the specs were found in the watch's firmware files.

According to the Galaxy Watch Active details, it runs Tizen 4.0.0.3 and has the model number SM-R500 which appears to be lower than that of the Gear Sport (SM-R600). Nevertheless, the Active does come with some upgrades over the Gear Sport.

As for the display, it is slightly larger at 1.3-inches but retains the same 360 x 360 resolution. It is powered by an Exynos 9110 processor. It also has a speaker, NFC for Samsung Pay but no support for MST, and bags a battery capacity of 230mAh.

Of course, the battery is small when compared to that of the Gear Sport but XDA says that the proposed battery capacity might be that of a smaller model while a larger model may pack a bigger battery.

The Galaxy Watch Active will also come with an LTE model. Furthermore, there is even a report of a dual e-SIM model. The watch has a heart rate sensor but the firmware files didn’t tell anything regarding to a blood pressure monitor. Lastly, It comes with a glove mode, Bixby Assistant, Back and Menu buttons, and even a gyroscope.
