Additionally, he further said that “the company already had a working prototype of a two-screen device”. Hence, there was only a small space between them which needs to be fixed. Not too long after that when we saw a new rumor hovering, saying that Huawei's fearsome rival Samsung wanted to stand out and be the first to introduce a foldable device.
Last week during the launch of the Balong 5000 5G chipset, Richard Yu himself had indicated that Huawei will introduce her first foldable smartphone at MWC 2019. However, the foldable smartphone is expected to feature the new Balong 5000 chipset and thus, that will be Huawei's first commercial 5G router. And of course, it if the counterpart of the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modem.
Based on the information we got from a well known, reputed tech blog “LetsGoDigital” has now released 3D renders of the Huawei foldable smartphone probably curried from patent sketches. Meanwhile, the final design may not appear exactly like the one they released but of course, will have some similarities. Set aside the attractive graphic design, there are not much details we can hold on to.
Just a mere look at the renders cannot really tell us if the device will fold outwards or inwards alone. Since it uses a flexible OLED panel, the possibility is high that the device can open both ways as desired. Meanwhile, it is folded outward when the user wants to use it as a phone, likewise when not in use, the user may have to fold it inward.
While the details of the device is still unclear to us, we might not be able to tell if there will be an M-Pen onboard just as in the case with the Mate 20 X gaming smartphone. For us to get to the root of the story, we’ll have to be patient, take a sit and wait until MWC so as to find out more about the Huawei foldable phone.
Talking about the price of the phone, we don't know anything regarding to that. But if to be compared with the Samsung's Galaxy Foldable phone which costs around €1,600 with 128GB storage, then the chances are that Huawei may price theirs at the rate of €1,449. Hence, the price is reasonable a bit than that of Samsung.
Furthermore, the Chinese giant has scheduled a press conference that will take place on the 24th of February, where we do have hope that the 5G foldable smartphone will be unveiled.
